Privacy Package Renewal
Renew your Privacy Package: Bolton BL1 registered office, director service address, and mail forwarding for a year with Form My Company.
Your Privacy Package gave your company a ready-to-trade registration with a Bolton BL1 registered office and director service address built in from day one, so your home address never had to appear on the Companies House public register. That protection doesn’t expire on its own, but the service behind it does need renewing once your first twelve months are up. This page explains exactly what renews, what it costs, and what stays the same either way.
The Privacy Package was built around one goal above the others: keeping your home address, and the home address of anyone else named on your company, off a register that anyone in the world can search for free. Renewing is simply the way that goal continues to be met into your company’s second year and beyond, rather than a separate decision you need to make from scratch.
What Your Privacy Package Included in Year One
One-off items that never need renewing
When you registered your company under the Privacy Package, you received a mix of one-off items and ongoing services. The one-off elements — your digital and printed Certificate of Incorporation, your Articles of Association, your company register, your free .co.uk domain name, and your introduction to a business bank account — were delivered once and don’t need renewing at all; they belong to your company permanently.
Registered Office & Director Service Address Renewal – £399.99 + VAT
Your registered office is the address Companies House and HMRC hold on file as your company’s official address, and your director service address is the address published against your director in place of a home address. Under the Privacy Package, both addresses were set to Bolton BL1 together, and renewing keeps them both in place for a further twelve months at £399.99 + VAT. There’s no need to choose between the two or renew them separately; they run on the same Bolton BL1 registration and the same renewal date.
Mail Forwarding Renewal
Renewing your Bolton BL1 address also renews your mail handling. Any official government correspondence sent there — from Companies House, HMRC, or another government department — continues to be scanned and emailed to you as part of the service. The first ten scanned items each year are free of charge, and each additional scanned copy after that is charged at £2. If you’d prefer the physical original rather than a scan, we’ll post it to you for free, with only the Royal Mail delivery charge payable separately.
What Happens If You Don’t Renew
If this renewal lapses, your company doesn’t stop existing, but it does lose the address that’s been protecting your privacy. A UK company must always have a valid registered office on file, so letting Bolton BL1 expire without arranging a replacement means either your own home address, or another address you’ll need to source yourself, becomes the one Companies House publishes against your company and your directorship.
This isn’t a one-off risk either. The Companies House public register is permanent and searchable indefinitely, so an address published against your company today can be found by anyone — a competitor, a cold caller, or simply a curious member of the public — for as long as it remains on file. Once a home address has appeared on the register, removing it later is a formal, separate application, rather than something that’s undone automatically the next time you renew.
Why Keeping Mail Handling Active Matters
This is worth keeping active for the same reason it mattered in year one: confirmation statement reminders, penalty notices, and other statutory correspondence arrive by post in the first instance, not by email, so an unmonitored registered office is one of the more avoidable ways a company misses a deadline it didn’t even know existed. Because the scanning and forwarding continues automatically once your renewal is in place, there’s nothing further for you to set up or activate — the same email inbox that received your mail in year one keeps receiving it for as long as the registered office renewal stays active.
Who This Renewal Is For
This renewal is relevant to every company that formed under the Privacy Package, regardless of what the business now does or how it’s grown since incorporation. Sole directors working from home, small partnerships who set up together, and companies that have since taken on office space of their own all have the same reason to keep this renewal active: the registered office and service address are about what’s published on a public register, not about where the business actually operates day to day.
Confirmation Statement Renewed Separately
Your Privacy Package covered your company’s premium filing service for its first twelve months, but the confirmation statement itself is a distinct, ongoing obligation that has to be met every year your company exists, regardless of which package you originally chose. Once that first year’s cover has been used, our File a Confirmation Statement service prepares and submits your next statement, including the £50 statutory Companies House filing fee, or our Company Secretarial service can take on the whole year’s filing obligations in one arrangement if your company’s officer or shareholder details change more than once a year.
How Renewal Works
We get in touch ahead of your renewal date so nothing lapses without warning. The £399.99 + VAT registered office and service address renewal is billed as a single annual fee covering both addresses and the mail handling that comes with them; the confirmation statement, if you choose to renew it through us, is billed separately as its own service, so you’re never paying for a filing you haven’t asked for.
There’s also no requirement to renew everything at once purely because your original package bundled it together. If your company’s circumstances have changed since incorporation — perhaps you’ve since moved into your own commercial premises and no longer need the mail handling in the same way, while still wanting to keep the registered office itself — that’s a conversation to have with our team ahead of your renewal date.
Why Renew With Form My Company
Renewing keeps the same Bolton BL1 address, the same mail-handling arrangement, and the same point of contact your company has used since incorporation, rather than starting the process of finding, registering, and notifying everyone of a new address partway through the year. Moving providers mid-year means updating Companies House, your bank, and every director or PSC’s published service address all at once; renewing avoids that entirely, for one fee, agreed upfront.
It also means your company’s public record stays consistent over time. A registered office that changes provider every year or two can look — to a bank, a supplier, or a potential customer checking the register — like a company that’s unsettled or hard to reach; continuity at the same Bolton BL1 address avoids that impression entirely.
Privacy Package Renewal FAQs
How much does it cost to renew a Privacy Package registered office?
Renewing the Bolton BL1 registered office and director service address together costs £399.99 + VAT per year, covering both addresses and the mail forwarding that comes with them.
What happens to my company if I don’t renew my registered office?
Your company keeps existing, but it loses its Bolton BL1 address, and since every UK company must always have a valid registered office on file, you’d need to nominate a replacement address before the current one expires.
Is mail forwarding included in the Privacy Package renewal?
Yes. Renewing your Bolton BL1 address keeps official government mail forwarding active, with the first ten scanned items each year included free of charge and £2 per scan after that.
Do I need to renew my confirmation statement separately from my registered office?
Yes. The registered office and service address renew as one annual fee, while your confirmation statement is a separate, ongoing obligation renewed individually through our File a Confirmation Statement or Company Secretarial service.
Will I be reminded before my Privacy Package renewal is due?
Yes. We contact you ahead of your renewal date, so you have time to confirm, change, or cancel the service before it expires.
